On a side note I saw some magic last night. I was walking down to check the mail last night and I looked over at the moon (which isn't uncommon for me to do). For a second I thought there was a giant bird flying in the sky, but then I realized it was a kite. I'm fond of kites.

This one was floating above the apartment building across the way. When I went to see who was flying it, I discovered it was flying itself. It seems the string got caught on a nearby telephone line. Today it seems to have crash landed on a roof, but perhaps it will find a way to take flight once more. I hope so!

Buffy is over

Buffy is over. The final episode was very good, and I think it ended it well. Now all those intellectuals spending their time with Buffy Studies have a finished work to analyze.

Now there are some good sites out there if you've missed out on this phenomena. Some are pure evilness while others act as a full episode guide. Guess what!?! There's even a biography available about the creator of Buffy: Joss Whedon. If you've missed this last (and final) season there's even a novelized version.

On an unrelated topic... I bought my poodle hat today. Don't forget to buy yours!

Amber Graduated

Got my sister Amber all graduated from college today. She was studying at Abilene Christian University to become a school teacher. I guess she's succeeded!

What was interesting is all the people that came for the event. Family from both sides showed up, and even some friends of the family. This is interesting because all these folks are rarely in the same room together.

At any rate, it was fun and I'm very proud of my sister for sticking it all the way through. I took quite a few pictures, and I may post some if they came out well enough. Now I am tired and must sleep, since I drove 6+ hours round trip to Abilene and back.

Happy Birthday to Me

Yesterday was my birthday. I'm 26 years old now.

Today was the last day of class for the spring semester. If you didn't know I've been pursuing a master's degree in information systems up at unt. It was kind of sad walking off campus tonight, knowing I wouldn't be back for a while.

I'm not planning on taking summer classes; actually I have no plans whatsoever. I imagine I'll start up again in the fall, which will be here soon enough. Who knows maybe I'll tack on a class at the end of summer if I get motivated. I am not exactly in a hurry though. The master's thing is mostly an entertainment thing, since I really still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

Year 25 was an interesting one upon reflection. I've grown in many ways... even a beard (think Dante from Clerks). I did the whole going back to school thing. At work, I changed cubicles and moved back to a former building. Made a few new friends, and lost track of some. More people I know got married, though the weddings are starting to blur in my memory.

I just wish I could win the lottery so I can redefine my life, for better or worse. It may seem silly pin hope on such an improbable thing, but that's seems to be what I need to make something happen in my life. Something has to shake my foundation, and the lotto would be the most benign. Anything else would more than likely have worse consequences. Really I'm just looking for security, like most people.

The web site is going through revisions again. Changed the style for the underlying pages, so now things are light instead of dark. No real color to speak of, since I'm more comfortable with grays. Expect the homepage to change soon, as I want all the pages to be more cohesive. Just trying to put my creative energies somewhere. I hope someone finds it entertaining.
